GYM RUMOUR DIVIDES SCHOOL

Students at Bellaire Primary School have been debating about whether they should buy a school gym with their new 3 million dollar grant.

Grade five student Mackenzie Heard believes we do not need a gym and said that there’s no room, it could block off playing areas and it couldn’t improve talent or fitness because he believes they play the same sports outside as they would in a gym.

Year six student Emily Witthaus disagrees with Mackenzie Heard and believes they should definitely have a gym. She said that when it rains while playing sport outside you could go inside the gym to continue playing sport and that it would definitely improve talent or fitness.

This tug of war between students who agree with the idea of a school gym and students who disagree with having a school gym at Bellaire Primary School will be controversial either result.
